Summer course on Design-driven Creativity with AI for high school students
Design-driven creativity with AI
Milan – Bovisa Campus | 2026 June 15-19
Discover Design your D-Venture with AI, the new summer course designed for high school students who want to explore how a design-driven creative venture is born and how artificial intelligence can become a powerful creative ally. Starting from a real need and moving toward a concrete entrepreneurial idea, you will learn to design like real designers do: by observing people, imagining possible futures, and building solutions that have an impact on everyday life. Throughout this journey, you will be guided by design experts who will support you in creating your very first D-Venture.
Why a course on creating a design-driven venture (with AI)?
In today’s world, some of the most revolutionary companies did not originate from a technological breakthrough, but from a very simple human need. Think of Airbnb, which began with the desire to find a welcoming place to stay during a conference—long before there was a defined business model. Or GoPro: it all started when its founder, Nick Woodman, couldn’t find a camera that was small, durable, and versatile enough to record his surfing sessions. Even before having a structured business plan, he had a concrete problem and a simple idea: build the product that was missing.
This is the design-driven approach: looking at the world through people’s eyes, understanding what works and what doesn’t, and imagining solutions that transform the experience before even building the product.
Today, artificial intelligence greatly amplifies this way of working:
- it allows the simulation of interviews and dialogues with users,
- it helps generate and organize ideas,
- it supports the creation of clear, visual, and easily communicable concepts,
- it accelerates the evaluation of scenarios, business models, and possible futures.
Our course teaches you how to combine design + AI to create a creative venture that does not start from technology, but from a deep understanding of a real need—and then, of course, how to use technology to bring it into the world.
The course
We live surrounded by technologies that influence our choices, our movements, the way we learn, and even how we relate to one another. Yet we are often just passive users of tools and applications designed by someone else.
This course aims to “open the box” of the innovation process and give students the opportunity to design a design-driven venture firsthand.
During the program, we will work as small innovation teams: starting from a real need, building a vision, developing a coherent offering, analyzing how to make it sustainable and scalable, and finally learning how to communicate it through effective identity, stories, and visuals.
AI will be a constant tool throughout the experience—from user simulations, to acting as a creative sparring partner, to the visual construction of the final proposal.
In five days, the goal is to give participants a true venture design experience in a design & AI framework.
Course program
The course will take place over five days, during which you will:
- Understand what it means to be design-driven: starting from real needs, observing people, and defining future scenarios and opportunities. AI will help simulate interviews and usage situations.
- Ideate and define your offering: shaping a value proposition aligned with the identified needs. AI will be used as a creative sparring partner and to produce clear, communicable syntheses.
- Design the business model: understanding how to make an idea feasible, sustainable, and scalable. AI will support the definition and visualization of different possible models.
- Build the identity and storytelling of the creative venture: working on branding, narrative, and visual communication. AI will be used to generate graphic materials and effective representations.
- Develop a final project: each group will create a complete and coherent presentation of their D-Venture, integrating everything explored during the previous days.
As in all TechCamps, the approach is highly hands-on: participants will learn by doing, experiencing an authentic journey into the world of design-driven innovation enhanced by AI.
