The course

Design-driven creativity with AI

Discover Design your D-Venture with AI, the new summer course for high school students who want to explore how a design-driven creative venture is born and how artificial intelligence can become a powerful creative ally.
Starting from a real need and arriving at a concrete business idea, you'll learn to design like real designers do: observing people, imagining possible futures, and building solutions that impact everyday life.
On this journey, you'll be guided by design experts who will accompany you in the creation of your first D-Venture.

Why a course to create a design-driven (AI) company?

In today's world, some of the most revolutionary businesses were born not from a technological intuition, but from a very simple human need: consider Airbnb, which began with the desire to find a cozy place to sleep during a conference, well before there was a defined business model. Or consider GoPro: it all began when founder Nick Woodman couldn't find a camera small enough, durable enough, and versatile enough to record his surfing sessions. Even before he had a structured business plan, he had a concrete problem and a simple idea: build the missing product.
This is the design-driven approach: looking at the world through people's eyes, understanding what works and what doesn't, imagining solutions that change the experience before even building the product.

Today, artificial intelligence greatly amplifies this way of working:

  • allows you to simulate interviews and dialogues with users,
  • helps generate and organize ideas,
  • supports the construction of clear, visual and easily communicable concepts,
  • accelerates the ability to evaluate scenarios, business models and possible futures.

Our course teaches you how to combine design + AI to create a creative enterprise that isn't born from technology, but from a deep understanding of a need. And then, of course, use the technology to actually bring it to the world.

The course

We live surrounded by technologies that influence our choices, our movements, the way we learn, and even how we interact with others. Yet we are often merely passive users of tools and applications designed by someone else.

This course aims to "open the box" of the innovation process and empower students to personally design a design-driven business. During the course, we will work as small innovation teams: we will start with a real need, build a vision, develop a coherent offering, analyze how to make it sustainable and scalable, and finally learn how to communicate it through effective identities, stories, and images.

AI will be a constant tool: from user simulations to its role as a creative sparring partner, all the way to the visual construction of the final proposal. Over five days, the goal is to provide participants with a true design & AI enterprise planning experience.

Course program

The course will last five days, during which you will be able to:

  • Conceive and define your offering: shape a value proposition aligned with emerging needs. AI will be used as a creative sparring partner and to produce clear, communicable summaries.
  • Ideare e definire la propria offerta: dare forma a un’idea di valore allineata ai bisogni emersi. L’AI sarà utilizzata come sparring partner creativo e per produrre sintesi chiare e comunicabili.
  • Building the creative enterprise's identity and storytelling: working on branding, storytelling, and visual communication. AI will be used to generate effective graphic materials and representations.
  • Building the creative enterprise's identity and storytelling: working on branding, storytelling, and visual communication. AI will be used to generate effective graphic materials and representations.
  • Develop a final paper: Each group will create a complete and coherent presentation of their D-Venture, integrating everything that has been experienced in the previous days.

Come in tutti i TechCamp, l’approccio è fortemente pratico: i partecipanti impareranno facendo, vivendo un’autentica esperienza nel mondo dell’innovazione design-driven con il potenziamento dell’AI.

Technical requirements

To participate in the course, you are required to bring the following materials:
A laptop. Anyone who owns an iPad (models released from 2018 onwards) is invited to bring it so that we can use one of the motion analysis software. The installed operating system does not matter, but the Office package is required. The software packages used in the course will be installed by the instructor during the afternoon exercises.
A mouse (recommended to facilitate interaction with the software that will be used).
