Domenico Brunetto is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics at the Politecnico di Milano, where he specializes in mathematics education and the history of mathematics. His research focuses on educational innovation, mathematical modeling, and the integration of digital tools in teaching and learning mathematics, with particular emphasis on problem solving and applied mathematical models.
He is the scientific coordinator of the METHEXIS research project (Polisocial Award 2023–2024), which aims to develop mathematical competencies in vulnerable contexts. He is also involved in several research initiatives, including MATES – MATematica per tutti in EState, exploring the role of mathematics across interdisciplinary, educational, and social domains.
Brunetto is the author and instructor of mathematics MOOCs available on www.pok.polimi.it
and actively develops educational laboratories and digital learning applications. Over the years, he has designed and coordinated numerous teacher training programs, including Teaching Mathematics with AI. He is also engaged in science communication and outreach activities, promoting an inclusive and non-stereotypical vision of mathematics.
