CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES

Thanks to the support of its partners, the Politecnico di Milano offers a limited number of students the opportunity to access courses through full exemption from the registration fee (€800) (see sponsors section).

Exemptions are granted through a specific procedure designed to reward commitment and support those with the greatest financial need.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for exemption, the candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • School Enrollment: Be enrolled in a secondary school (high school).
  • Documentation of Merit: To be in possession of the report card for the previous school year (2024/2025).
  • Cover Letter: A text (written by the student) that illustrates the student's interest in STEM subjects and personal goals.
  • Income Documentation: Must be in possession of a valid ISEE 2026 certificate (for students resident in Italy) or equivalent documentation for income earned abroad.

Evaluation and Assignment Criteria

The TECHCAMP scientific technical committee will assign the available exemptions following a two-stage selection logic:

  • Eligibility Ranking (Merit and Motivation): A ranking will initially be drawn up based on a combined evaluation of the average grade on the report card and the motivation letter, both assessed with a score out of ten (maximum score 20/20). This phase is aimed at identifying students who demonstrate the academic excellence and aptitude required to successfully undertake our intensive university courses.
  • Assignment by Economic Priority: Once the ranking of eligible students has been established, exemptions will be assigned following the order of merit, provided that the candidate's family ISEE indicator is less than €40,000. In the event of a tie in the merit ranking, priority will be given to the candidate with the lower economic indicator.

Please note

The presence of educational gaps or serious gaps highlighted in the report card could compromise the candidate's suitability, regardless of their financial situation or the quality of their cover letter.

When completing the exemption application, you will be able to indicate any preferences for participating in specific courses. The final course assignment will be determined by the Technical-Scientific Committee based on the available places for each course and the candidates' ranking.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

If I request an exemption, do I still have to pay the €800? No. If you request an exemption, you don't have to pay. If you win, the fee will be covered in full.

If you are not selected and do not receive any notification by April 30, 2026, you can decide whether to pay for your course through the courses section, checking the availability of remaining places in your chosen course.

How important is a motivation letter in qualifying for exemption? The letter is crucial: along with the report card grades, it helps determine a student's placement in the eligibility ranking. A strong motivation can compensate for a slightly lower grade point average.

Considering that the number of free exemptions offered by the project and sponsoring companies is limited, a good grade point average and a strong motivation expressed in the cover letter help increase the chances of success in obtaining free participation in the TECHCAMP courses.

What does the fee exemption include?

Students assigned a free place will be exempt from paying course fees. However, students will still be responsible for travel, room, and board costs.
